Take a Walk With Me

Good evening friends, family, followers, fans, folkies, and Fred that runs the local fish shop. Welcome back. Or should you be welcoming us back?

It feels an age since we were on the scene with the cool kids. Some would argue we never were, my mum can say mean things sometimes, ANYWAY. We have a feast for your eyes and ears! (and by feast we mean, you may feel over-faced, overfull, and underwhelmed, with perhaps some bloating and uncomfortableness.) Our gig page has something on it for the first time in eighteen months, and it doesn’t include the word cancelled! So to celebrate this momentous occasion we are also releasing a new song into the void!

Take a Walk With Me is a whimsical ditty - borne of a lot of things. Lockdown has allowed us time to reflect on our lives - what we have, what we want, and what is important to us. Reflections from the beginning of our relationship and the chances we took to be together, and the journey we have embarked on together.

We ruminated over whispers of ‘it’ll never work’ and ‘it won’t last’ and we heard you - Beth’s a folk singer and Dean’s a bass player, it just should not work, but damnit it does!

We then thought a lot about that funny little saying - ‘you shouldn’t build your castles on sand’ and we said HEY! Where else do you build sandcastles?! Of course - us both being perpetual children, we rather like this sandcastle that we have built for ourselves. There aren’t any flags, or moats. We’re happy here. Happy to have taken the chance, taken the walk, and built our little sandcastle, with just enough room for us, a cat, and all our hopes and dreams.
