Autumn Leaves

If you want to skip the blabber - the new song and video is at the bottom. We don’t blame you, but we do judge you. There may or may not be a pop quiz on the content of our blogs at the next gig but if you wanna take the risk, that’s fine.

Hey hey hey, have you all noticed that odd ball of fire in the sky recently? Is it a bird? A plane? The end of days?! The half a day of English summer we are so often promised and never get?

Well, we don’t know. But it’s had a strange affect on Beth and she’s got her knees out (ooh, err, matron!) And the greenery that is sprouting, and bluebells (and daffodils) has inspired a song about autumn; nice one Kootch, late to the party as always. Perfect time to record the song and film the video too! Not like it looks like spring… EVERYWHERE.

The song is about the cultivation, care, and patience it takes to maintain relationships and the desolate feelings left after relationships that have cultivated seeds of greed. But it doesn’t matter. Money saves the day ‘cause it’s quicker and easier to buy flowers than it is to grow them - too dour for spring? THAT’S WHY IT’S ABOUT AUTUMN. We’re not bitter we wrote a song 6 months too late for the season. It’s autumn somewhere, right?

Maybe it’s about none of those things, and the tune is just pretty. It can mean whatever you like. Husband left you? Autumn Leaves. Car broken down just before MOT? Autumn Leaves. Cat prefers the neighbours but still poops in your litter tray? AUTUMN LEAVES.

We hope you like it. There has been no easy segue into this so we are just going to say it. We are supporting the fabulous BOB FOX in Doncaster on May 13th. Friday 13th is unlucky for some, don’t let others have all the bad luck, and come see us.
